Welcome to MHCF!
The Mount Horeb Community Foundation has encouraged, facilitated and managed long-term philanthropy since 1988. We provide you a simple, powerful, and highly personal approach to giving, and we offer you the opportunity to directly benefit your community by providing monetary grants for local organizations and community projects. We offer a variety of tools to help people achieve their charitable goals and most charitable gifts qualify for maximum tax advantage under federal law.

How you can benefit from working with the MHCF:
We do as you direct us
- Honoring donor intent is our mandate. A donor’s intent is captured when a fund is established or planned for, and in the case of a planned gift through a letter of understanding to ensure each donor’s charitable legacy is managed in perpetuity.
- We offer opportunities for donors to establish a perpetual legacy.
- Your investment benefits your local community and it keeps on giving back over time. Earnings on the various funds are returned to the community in the form of Grants each year. This is a gift that keeps on giving!
Apply for a grant
- Each year the Foundation grants out money to the local area to assist in projects or assist in funding organizational activities and expenses.
Our investment performance is competitive:
- Our assets are professionally managed and have consistently outperformed benchmarks.
- Donors’ charitable assets reap the benefits of $2.4 million investment portfolio – they are fully diversified and include investment products that may be inaccessible to the individual donor. The end result is more money available to support charitable causes.
